Every month Furthernoise review and feature a wide spectrum of cross genre music and sound works from material sent to us. These can be live recordings including audio installations, independent CDRs and CD / Vinyl label releases. Although we cannot guarantee your submission will be reviewed, we do listen to everything we receive.

It is our intention that all reviews contain selected MP3s of the featured work which are available to download and governed by Creative Commons NoDerivs 2.5 license agreement. By submitting material we assume your permission to use the work in this way.

Furthernoise net label

Furthernoise.org Explorations in Sound is a net label releasing quarterly high quality MP3 compilations of adventurous critical music & sounds. Each selection is a limited edition release, available free to download (artwork included) for 3 months before being replaced by the next editions compilation. They will feature a diverse array of artists and groups who are pushing the boundaries of their genre and exploring new terrains that communicate via sound. All works are governed by the above Creative Commons license.

We have an open submissions poilicy for these releases and you don't necessarily have to be featured in any edition to be considered for inclusion. Please refer to submission guidelines or post individual hard copy aifs to the address below.

Review submission guidelines

All hard copy or net submissions must be accompanied by 2 images / artwork that represent the submission and emailed to roger [at] furthernoise dot org. This can be sleeve / cover artwork or artist photograph. The images must be in the following format.

  • Thumbnail or front end artwork as jpg or gif 120 pixels height x 80 pixels width.
  • Main review text banner artwork as jpg or gif 128 pixels height x 570 pixels
    • width.

Please also include:

  • Artist biog / statement or relevant processes
  • Release date
  • Label details (if any)
  • Relevant URLs
