From the thick drones of the opening track Urbs, to the solid, almost physical manifestations of empty space in Graviter, Duae (Pablo Reche and Miguel Angel Tolosa) create a simple exploration of sound and location. The construction is minimal; elements appear gradually then become submerged in the dense, murky layers. Fragile textures such as crackles, hisses and static are used to evoke decay and a sense of distance. The four long tracks are all shaped from environmental recordings, but such is the transformation that only the spectral remnants of place are audible. Reche and Tolosa balance the formless menace that develops from thundering low sounds by contrasting space and silence; creating a slow sense of movement, development, propulsion.

By staying within the 'constraints' of lowercase, minimal and drone music, Duae becomes an atmospheric release which succeeds in Reche and Tolosa's aim to represent "an inner vision of post-industrial landscapes, isolated urban places and empty states of mind".
