Sublamp
Sublamp is los angeles based artist ryan connor. Born in 1979, ryan was raised by scientist parents living in and amongst various national parks before settling in the rocky mountains. This early connection with nature and science led to a fascination with the textures of growth and decay, and with the cognitive abilities and instincts of animals (including humans). This is evident in his sound work, which explores an intuitive and emotional response to sound and the concept of consciousness without language. Relocating to los angeles to attend the california institute of the arts in 2000, ryan also began to experiment with short video work exploring recursive image generation (video rescan) and the relationship of images to sound. current members: URL=http://shiver.sublamp.com/
